It is extremely likely that we will experience a widespread outbreak of novel H1N1 influenza (formerly known as swine flu) this Fall.  This outbreak has the potential to have economic impacts due to absenteeism that could force businesses, schools and health care providers to reduce operations or close down. In order to mitigate these impacts, the Centers for Disease Control will distribute vaccines through local health departments and ask them to arrange for the immunization of a large a proportion of the population as possible.

Dr. Dean Sienko, Health Officer of the Ingham County Health Department will discuss how businesses can prepare for H1N1 and how they can participate in the immunization campaign.  Topics will include personal and family preparedness, communication with employees, continuity of operations planning, and participation in open or closed points of dispensing (PODS).

This is a FREE event, but space is limited. Two sessions will be offered.
