On May 28, 2009, Brogan, Reed, Van Gorder & Associates and IT Risk Managers will host a Speed-LINC educational event. Attendees at the event will discuss any questions you have regarding insurance issues that relate to your business, including:
- Cost containment strategies for health insurance and employee benefits
- Basic business insurance; and
- Special types of business insurance
This event will be conducted in the Speed-LINC "speed dating" format with these three sessions moderated by experienced professionals:
Session One - Health Insurance and Employee Benefits
This session will focus on cost containment strategies for your health insurance and other employee benefit products. In addition, in this session we will also discuss business secession planning and the value for a written plan.
Session leader will be:
Greg Brogan is the Managing partner of Brogan, Reed, Van Gorder & Associates, LLC, an East Lansing based employee benefit, insurance and investment firm established in 1937. In addition, Mr. Brogan is also Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sparrow Health System, Chairman of Summit Community Bank, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of East Lansing Rotary Foundation Board.
Session Two - Basic Business Insurance
This session will focus on everything that you ever want to know about your basic business insurance. This session will cover the General Liability, Property, Electronic Data Processing (EDP), Auto, and umbrella policies.
Session leader will be:
Crystal Sargent V.P. and Underwriter for IT Risk Managers, Inc. Ms. Sargent has been underwriting commercial business insurance for over 15 years with an emphasis on technology coverage for the past 8 years.
Session Three - Special Types of Insurance Protection for Businesses
This session will cover the special policies that most business need to consider in today's litigious society. This session will include, professional liability (E&O), directors and officers (D&O), employment practices liability, and database coverage. These are just a few of the specialty coverage's that a technology company should consider purchasing.
Session leader will be:
Larry Harb CEO and founder of IT Risk Managers, Inc. Mr. Harb has been marketing professional liability and other specialty coverage for almost 20 years. He has specialized in insuring technology companies and companies that use technology for the past 10 years.
Who should attend Speed-LINC events?
Speed-LINC is targeted to owners and managers of IT businesses, and to other IT professionals. However, most Speed-LINC events are relevant to other industries too. Accordingly, attendance is open to anyone.
Is there a cost for attendees?
Events are free for LINC members and $15 for non-members. The fees will be waived for the May 2009 event. All fees will be contributed to the LINC scholarship program. Optional donations to the scholarship program are always welcome.
